    » Are established and approved by AORN's Board of Directors
    » Pertain to legislative and regulatory issues at both the state and federal level.
    » Guide AORN's public policy efforts.

2000-2001 AORN Legislative Priorities

  Ensure the supervisory presence of RN's in the perioperative arena and promote AORN's position that "Every surgical patient deserves a perioperative nurse."
  Medicare reimbursement for certified RNFA's and state third-party reimbursement for RNFA's.
  Supervision and regulation of assistive personnel.
  Patient and personnel health and safety in the perioperative arena.

Delegate are required to attend : “Meet the Candidates” and “Informal Meet the Candidates” sessions.

First House of Delegates Meeting

Second Forum and Third Forum (tentatively scheduled)

Second House of Delegates meeting

Attend all chapter delegates meetings

Outline one educational session for publication in the chapter newsletter

Provide verification card of voting to chapter delegate chair.

Points are accumulated in a chapter year beginning September 1 and ending August 31 of the previous educational year. No points will accumulate from year to year.
