Dr. Hieke graduated from the Indiana University School of Medicine in
1978. He subsequently completed his surgical residency at Tripler Army
Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii. He served as a surgeon in the US
Army in West Germany. He then returned to the United States and
completed a Hand Surgery Fellowship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center
in Washington, D.C. He has been practicing hand surgery at the Oklahoma
Hand Surgery Center in Oklahoma City since 1989.
Dr. Hieke became Board certified in surgery in 1984
with recertification in 1994. He earned a certificate of Added
Qualifications for Surgery of the Hand in 1990 and was recertified in
2000. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and holds
membership in several professional societies including the American
Society for Surgery of the Hand.
His areas of special interest include microsurgical
reconstruction, peripheral nerve entrapments, wrist arthroscopy,
traumatic injuries and wilderness medicine.
